Explore China's highlights on this 14 day journey. You'll begin in Beijing and be mesmerised by the 'Great Wall', ancient temples and palaces, as well as seeing the locals in the backstreet 'hutongs' by rickshaw! Move on to Xi'an to marvel at the archaeological discovery of the century, the 'Terracotta Warriors' - more than 2,000 years old, interred with the Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Also visit the Banpo Museum, with its extraordinary 6000 year old village remains! At Guilin, enjoy a spectacular cruise down the meandering and picturesque Li River. Here the breathtaking scenery of jagged mist-covered mountains, quaint villages that dot the riverbanks, fishermen aboard bamboo rafts and grazing water buffalo make for some classic photographs. Try Longjing Green Tea at a Tea plantation in beautiful Hangzhou and visit Suzhou, famous for its classic gardens and often called 'Oriental Venice.' Complete the journey with a stay in the wonderfully vibrant city of Shanghai - where 'ancient meets modern'.
Day 1: Beijing You will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Days 2 > 4: Beijing Extensive touring in Beijing over the next 3 days including the Great wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, panda's at Beijing Zoo, tour of the Hutongs and a Peking Duck dinner.
Day 5: Beijing > Xi'an Morning at leisure. Afternoon flight to Xi'an. This evening enjoy a superb traditional Tang Dynasty dinner and folkloric show.
Day 6: Xi'an Private tour including eh 6,000 year old Banpo Neolithic village and the marvellous 'buried army' of Terracotta Warriors, interred with Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
Day 7: Xi'an > Guilin Visit the Shaanxi History Museum and Big Wild Goose Pagoda before walking the old city walls and transferring to the airport for a flight to Guilin.
Days 8 > 9: Guilin Touring includes a Li River cruise. You will see jagged mist-covered mountains, quaint villages, fisherman aboard bamboo rafts and grazing water buffalo. See the Yangshou markets, Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Hill.
Day 10: Guilin > Hangzhou Fly to Hangzhou and visit the Six Harmony Pagoda, famous lakes and gardens.
Day 11: Hangzhou Take a short cruise on West Lake and visit a tea plantation.
Day 12: Hangzhou > Suzhou > Shanghai Train to Suzhou and visit both the Lingering Garden and the Garden of the Master of Nets. Enjoy a cruise on the Grand Canal before boarding the train to Shanghai. Explore this wonderful city where 'ancient meets modern'.
Day 13: Shanghai Touring today includes the Bund and Yu Gardens.
Day 14: Depart Shanghai You will be transferred to the airport.
