Join the hustle and bustle of Seattle with plenty of time to shop and explore. Board at Seattle's King Street Station for your rain journey to Vancouver. Enjoy dinner and take in evening views of the Pacific Northwest as you travel between the USA and Canada. Highlights include the Chittenden Locks linking Puget Sound to Lake Union and Lake Washington, the fishing fleet (and Boeing jets) of Everett, views of the Cascade Mountains and numerous photo opportunities as the train hugs the coastline.

Day 1: Seattle Arrival Arrive in Seattle and spend time exploring Seattle's waterfront, Chinatown, Pioneer Square, the sights of Pike Place Market, and/or the Space Needle on your own at leisure.

Day 2: Seattle to Vancouver Take in the sights of Seattle you didn't see yesterday before checking out from your hotel. A motorcoach will transfer you (and your luggage) to King Street Station Station to check in for the first leg of your Rocky Mountaineer journey to Vancouver.

After boarding, toast the rail voyage ahead and enjoy dinner onboard as you travel past the Chittenden Locks linking Puget Sound to Lakes Union and Washington as you wave goodbye to Seattle. Highlights include the fishing fleet (and Boeing jets) of Everett, the fields at the foot of the Cascade Mountains near Mount Vernon, sunset views of Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands beyond, and, after crossing the Canadian border, the community of White Rock as the train hugs the Pacific Coast and travels into Vancouver. On arrival in Vancouver, a motorcoach will transfer you from Pacific Central Station to your nearby downtown hotel.

Day 3 Vancouver Sightseeing Enjoy a six-hour sightseeing tour of Vancouver's spectacular North Shore. Travel across the Lions Gate Bridge and into the Coast Mountains. Experience the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Treetops Adventure, discovering the coastal temperate rainforest and British Columbia's First Nations heritage. Next, visit Grouse Mountain (gondola admission included), the Peak of Vancouver, and take in breathtaking views of the city, ocean, and surrounding mountains.

Day 4 Free Day in Vancouver Take full advantage of a free day at leisure in Vancouver, and check out Vancouver's must-see attractions like the Vancouver Aquarium (admission not included), Stanley Park, or Granville Island, explore the city's museums, art galleries, gardens, and varied neighbourhoods, or take a day trip to discover the nearby resort town of Whistler or British Columbia's charming capital on Vancouver Island, Victoria.

Day 5: Vancouver > Kamloops (Train) Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia's interior. On today's journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops

Day 6: Kamloops > Jasper (Train) Your journey continues north and east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will be surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing ever nearer to the high peaks of the Continental Divide. Today's highlights include Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet) the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls, and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your rail journey ends this evening on arrival in the resort town of Jasper.

Day 7: Jasper Highlights Tour Jasper National Park is a World Heritage Site and Canada's largest National Park. Today you will enjoy a short scenic tour including the many natural attractions, rugged peaks, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of some of the many creatures that call this mountain park home.

The remainder of the day is free for you to explore more of Jasper independently.

Day 8: Jasper > Banff (Coach) Travel to Banff via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. A stop will be made at Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about is geological features. Your driver/guide will explain how glaciers are formed and point out some interesting geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included). Afterwards, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving at Banff via Lake Louise late this afternoon.

Day 9: Banff > Lake Louise (Coach) A half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in Lake Louise where the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy this magnificent location.

Please note: While arrival at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will be approximately 1:00 p.m., scheduled check-in time is not until 4:00 p.m. In the event that your room is not ready, your luggage will be stored and you are free to enjoy the amenities of the hotel.

Day 10: Lake Louise > Calgary with Panoramic Helicopter Tour (Coach) Today you will enjoy a full-day tour concluding in Calgary. Begin the morning with a sightseeing tour of Banff. Among the points of interest are Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Banff Gondola included. Continue on to Kananaskis for the highlight of today's adventure, a 12-minute Panoramic Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Your tour ends on arrival in Calgary late this afternoon/
