Introduction
With a scenic mountain backdrop of the valley escarpment and nearly 4 km of unspoiled river frontage, Royal Zambezi Lodge is perfectly positioned for exploration of the Lower Zambezi.
A spacious but intimate privately owned lodge, Royal Zambezi offers the ultimate in luxury and cuisine while enjoying and participating closely in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. The central building and individual private suites are designed to let nature play a leading role in ensuring the relaxed pace and magical experiences enjoyed by guests.
Directly from the lodge, you can be whisked away on water-based safaris where you’ll see large numbers of hippo, elephant, crocodile and a wide variety of incredible birdlife. Open 4×4 vehicle safaris are also offered, where you will search out the leopard, lion, zebra, buffalo and much more. Big game fishing catch and release is also an option – this area is home to one of the worlds’ most prized, the tiger fish, among others. In the evening meet at the famous Sausage Tree bar over the river, or the open air pool, to tell stories of sightings during the day, or the one that got away!
After your safari, spend two nights at the majestic Victoria Falls – the largest curtain of falling water in the world at nearly 2 km plunging into a gorge more than 100 m below. The sight is absolutely awe inspiring and no photo can capture the full picture!
