Sri Lanka is a melting pot of culture, colours and cuisine. At the heart of every visit to Sri Lanka is its food, offering an array of aromas to please the senses. From unique tea infused dinners to learning the way of the locals in an authentic cooking class, you will experience the very best of Sri Lankan cuisine, while soaking up the culture with visits to the Cultural Triangle, tea estates and the walled fort town of Galle.
Day 1: Colombo > Negombo Arrive Colombo and transfer to your hotel in Negombo, a 35 minute drive from the airport.
Day 2: Negombo > Anuradhapura Visit the famous Negombo fish market with the hotel chef and select the catch of the day, followed by a cooking lesson and brunch. Transfer to your hotel in the heart of the Cultural Triangle. This evening, enjoy a unique dinner in the middle of a peaceful "kamatha", the threshing ground of a paddy field.
Day 3: Anuradhapura > Sigiriya The day begins with an organic garden tour and cooking demonstration. Travel to Sigiriya and climb the spectacular rock fortress for incredible sunset views.
Day 4: Anuradhapura Cycle through the archeological site of Anuradhapura, the ancient capital and spiritual centre of Sri Lanka. Enjoy a picnic lunch and afternoon visit to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree.
Day 5: Anuradhapura > Kandy Visit a working spice and fruit farm in Matale, followed by a delicious traditional home cooked meal. Continue to Kandy and visit the famed Temple of the Tooth and enjoy a traditional 'Kottu' dinner at the hotel this evening.
Day 6: Kandy > Hatton A picturesque train journey takes you to the heart of Sri Lankan tea country. Check-in to your all-inclusive resort, offering spectacular views of Castlereagh reservoir. Enjoy Arrack cocktails this evening.
Day 7: Hatton Enjoy a unique tea infused cooking lesson, featuring a tea infused desert, hosted by the chef. Lunch will follow. Afternoon visit to a tea factory to see how tea is produced and sample various teas.
Day 8: Hatton > Galle Travel by domestic seaplane to Galle, on the south coast. Visit a cinnamon estate for a guided tour of the plantation and a cinnamon peeling demonstration.
Day 9: Galle Explore the famed Galle fort on a walking tour, followed by a boat ride down the Kapu Ela River. Hop on a tuk tuk for a breathtaking ride through rural Galle and the heart of the south. Conclude your day with a cooking lesson at a local home.
Day 10: Galle > Colombo After a leisurely morning, depart for Colombo Airport.
