Sicilian cuisine has a rich culinary history, influenced by its surrounding cultures and the historic invasions over the past three millennia. On this voyage of flavour and luxury, discover the gastronomic delights of this Mediterranean hot spot. Explore Sicily's world-renowned fish market on the streets of Catania, try your hand at a handmade pasta lesson in Riposto, and tour the largest nursery in the Mediterranean for an aperitif-tasting of Etna wines. In the old town of Milo, visit a Sicilian winemaker with cooking lessons and lunch on the hills of Tre Castagni, and indulge in more wine tastings and authentic Sicilian cuisine in Randazzo and on the slopes of Mount Etna.
Day 1: Catania Arrive in Catania and begin your journey with a tour of Sicily's world-renowned fish market before a light lunch. Cocktails & tapas are served at the restaurant FUD OFF, intertwining drinking and eating with a careful selection of food specialties. This evening, dine on traditional Sicilian cuisine at Me Cumpari Turiddu. Overnight at Asmundo di Gisira. Luxurious, elegant and exclusive, this beautiful boutique hotel is set in the heart of Baroque Catania.
Day 2: Catania > Riposto Head towards the seaside in Riposto for a handmade pasta lesson at Donna Carmela's house, hands in dough in a room filled with Sicilian aromas. Later, visit the largest Mediterranean nursery with an aperitif-tasting of Etna wines. Dinner is served at Locanda Nerello, a 100% organic restaurant in house at the Relais Monaci delle Terre Nere. Overnight at the luxury Relais.
Day 3: Riposto > Milo Transfer to the old town of Milo to visit a Sicilian winemaker presenting the Etna Bianco Superiore 'Carricante', the Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese and the Nerello Mantellato. Enjoy cooking lessons and lunch on the hills of Tre Castagni with Chef Bonetta dell'Oglio, one of the greatest experts in the Sicilian territory, before food stories of men and islands in the "House of the three chestnut tree". Later, preparation of a meal in a colonial house on Mount Etna with a unique collection of wild herbs and flowers, then wine and a yoga class at Relais Monaci delle Terre Nere. Dinner is served at the Zash restaurant. Overnight at the luxury Relais Monaci delle Terre Nere.
Day 4: Milo > Randazzo > Linguaglossa Transfer to Randazzo. Walk through the vineyards under the fumes of the Etna volcano before a visit and tasting at the Ice Cream shop and patisserie "Gelateria Santo Musumeci". Dinner in the old town of Linguaglossa at Shalai Restaurant (1 Michelin star), featuring Chef Giovanni Santoro. Overnight at the Relais Shalai, an elegant and sophisticated boutique hotel.
Day 5: Linguaglossa > Mount Etna Wine tasting on the slopes of Mount Etna, then a very special lunch with a tasting of indigenous Sicilian meats cooked in the shadow of the volcano by country chefs. Overnight at Relais Shalai with a light dinner.
