Day 1: Arrive Tel Aviv Transfer to your hotel. Overnight: Tel Aviv
Day 2: The Coastal Plain Start your day with a short walking tour in picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town of Jaffa (Joppa). Drive to Caesarea, and visit the Roman Theatre and the Crusader Fortress with its unique dry moat. Then to the port city of Haifa to view the magnificent Bahai gardens from atop Mount Carmel. Continue to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit the Church of the Annunciation and the Church of St Joseph. Continue via Cana to the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Overnight: Tiberias
Day 3: Sea of Galilee Visit Capernaum, to see the synagogue where Jesus preached and the recent excavations of the House of St. Peter. Continue onto Tabgha, where He multiplied five loaves and two fish. Ascend to the top of the Mt. of Beatitudes, where you can relive the Sermon on the Mount. Ascend the Golan Heights and from Mt. Bental, see the ghost town of Kuneitra - See the whole of Northern Israel from atop the Hula Valley. Overnight: Tiberias
Day 4: Jordan Valley Visit the baptism site at Yardenit on the Jordan River - Depart the Sea of Galilee via the fertile Jordan Valley. Explore the ancient city of Beith Shean, a fully excavated Roman/Byzantine city of Scythopolis. Continue to Beit Alfa to see the sixth-century synagogue featuring colourful folk-art style mosaics. Visit the Hospitaller castle of Belvoir ('Fair View' in French) for an amazing outlook over Northern Israel. Overlook the ancient city of Jericho. Ascend the mountains to the holy city of Jerusalem. Overnight: Jerusalem
Day 5: Jerusalem Old City Explore the biblical and cultural highlights of Old Jerusalem. Start the tour with a panoramic view of the city from Mount of Olives. Visit Garden of Gethsemane and enter the Old City through one of its famous gates. Explore the restored Jewish Quarter and visit the Cardo, an ancient Roman marketplace where you can still shop today. Stop at the Western Wall, the holiest place to the Jewish People. Continue into the Christian Quarter and walk along the Via Dolorosa, following the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit Mt. Zion to see the Room of the Last Supper and the Tomb of King David. Overnight: Jerusalem
Day 6: Jerusalem New City and Bethlehem Drive by the Israeli Parliament - The Knesset. Then visit the Israel Museum and see the famous Dead Seas Scrolls at the Shrine of the Book. Experience a moving visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, and visit Ein Karem where John the Baptist was born. Depart for Bethlehem for an overview of the quaint Shepherd's Fields. Drive on for a visit to the Grotto at the Church of Nativity and Manger's square. Overnight: Jerusalem
Day 7: Masada and the Dead Sea Travel south and descend to the lowest place on earth - the Dead Sea. Ascend by cable car to the mountain fortress of Masada, once a luxurious palace built by Herod the Great and later the last stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Explore the unique remains including the bathhouse, water cisterns, storerooms, hanging palaces and the Synagogue. Then enjoy a chance to swim (float) in the mineral rich Dead Sea. Day 8: Jerusalem > Tel Aviv Transfer to the airport.
