"I wanted to connect the interior with the location and make it a holistic journey of discovery. The 'journey' starts with the immediate surroundings - a place to calm the senses, enable a new state of 'slow living' and relaxation whilst connecting with nature. Colours and textures are inspired by Peruvian nature - soft Ivory Alpaca tones, Andean slate greys and woven textures and handicrafts - inspirations from the interior designer Inge Moor, The Gallery, London. Accommodation on board consists of 2 deluxe double bed cabins, 6 junior double bed cabins, 11 twin bed cabins and 5 bunk bed cabins - all with their own private facilities.
Day 1 (Wed) : Puno Meet the Belmond Andean Explorer in Puno, a charming town beside Lake Titicaca ready for your noon departure. Settle into your plush cabin and soon after you are invited to one of the two sophisticated restaurant cars for lunch. A fine dining experience of refined Andean cuisine awaits. Later disembark for an excursion through the scenic La Raya mountain range, an area of rugged and untamed natural beauty. Return to the train for tea and time at leisure. Soak up the scenery from the Observation Car, or perhaps get to know your fellow travellers over cocktails in the Lounge Car. In the evening, return to the restaurant car for a sensational dinner as the train continues on its journey into the Cuzco region.
Day 2 (Thurs) : Cuzco Awake early to a delicious breakfast, the ideal way to prepare for the day ahead.
