Day 1: Vancouver >Kamloops (B,L) All aboard Rocky Mountaineer for the scenic rail journey to Kamloops in the interior of British Columbia. Pass through the rich fields of the Fraser River Valley and the towering peaks of the Coastal Mountains before entering the Fraser Canyon. Follow the Thompson River through spectacular landscapes to historic Kamloops.

Day 2: Kamloops > Banff (B,L) Back on-board the Rocky Mountaineer following the South Thompson River to Shuswap Lake with its thousand miles of shoreline. Pass Craigellachie, where the 'last spike' was driven completing the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885. Enter Rogers Pass, with its tunnels, snow-sheds and glistening Glaciers. The Kicking Horse river leads you to Kicking Horse Pass, the Spiral Tunnels and over the Continental Divide to Banff, and Banff National Park.

Day 3 Morning sightseeing tour of Banff with Gondola This morning, tour the town of Banff and its environs. Among the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos (shaped by centuries of wind) & Bow Valley Viewpoint, Surprise Corner, Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka and Bankhead: an abandoned mining town and the relic of Banff's industrial past. At the end of the tour you will be taken to the Banff Gondola for a breathtaking ascent to the pinnacle of Sulphur Mountain for an awe-inspiring 360-degree panorama of sheer mountain majesty. Return to downtown Banff at your leisure. (transfer not included)

Day 4 Banff > Lake Louise Depart Banff early afternoon for a short drive via the scenic Bow Valley to Lake Louise.

Day 5 Lake Louise > Jasper (L) Travel by coach today via one of the most scenic highways in North America - the Icefields Parkway. Visit the Columbia Icefield that covers an area of nearly 125 sq mi (325 sq km) and reaches a depth of 1050 ft (320 m). Time allows for an Ice Explorer ride (included) on the Athabasca Glacier, then a stop at the award-winning Glacier Skywalk (included) experiencing a glass-floored observation platform 918 ft (280 m) over spectacular glacier-formed valleys and rushing waterfalls. Photo stops along the Parkway will be made at Bow Lake, the Crowfoot Glacier and the Athabasca Falls. This highway is renowned for sightings of bears, elk, moose & mountain sheep, so keep your camera handy. Please note: mountain lakes in this region will be frozen through to mid-June.

Day 6 Jasper > Toronto (D) This morning board VIA Rail's 'Canadian' for the famous train journey across the prairies to Toronto.

Exclusive to Sleeper Touring Class: By day, sit back in comfortable seating and enjoy the stretch out comfort of your very own accommodation. At night attendants will transform your quarters into cozy bunks or bedroom. Guests have access to the Park Car, always at the tail end of the train whose tapered shape gives the car its distinctive look.

Day 8 On-board VIA Rail (B,L,D) Today is spent crossing the scenic lake lands of northern Ontario.

Day 9 Arrive Toronto (Rail) (B, BR) Arrival in Toronto this afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to explore Canada's largest and most diverse city. Suggested places to visit include the Eaton Centre, Chinatown, CN Tower, and Old and New City Halls with opportunity for pictures along the way.

Day 10 Niagara Falls Day Tour (L) Travel by air-conditioned motorcoach for a breathtaking, full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Tour includes: Hornblower Niagara Falls Cruise or Journey Behind the Falls, a meal overlooking Niagara Falls, free time in Niagara Falls and a winery tour including a wine tasting.

Day 11 Toronto > Montreal (L) Enjoy the facilities of the Business class lounge while waiting for boarding instructions. Complimentary newspapers and non alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge.

Follow the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes of North America, to Trenton Junction, where the St. Lawrence River flows from the lake. Passing the village of Napanee, look south as you cross the river to view a series of beautiful waterfalls. The city of Kingston is an historic Canadian city, being the early capital of the "Province of Canada" (1841-1867) and is the birthplace of Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. Here, you cross the Rideau Canal, built in 1832 to connect Kingston with Ottawa and was originally designed after the War of 1812 to guarantee a supply route north of the US border in the event of another war. Past Cornwall, the line enters the Province of Quebec. Approaching Montreal, cross the Ottawa River to Dorval, before arriving at Central Station in Montreal. The station is located below the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in the heart of downtown.

Day 12 Montreal City Tour This morning enjoy a comprehensive 3 hour tour of Montreal, taking in over 20 points of interest including the Notre Dame Basilica, St. Joseph's Oratory, Old Montreal, the French Quarter, views of the Olympic Site and a panoramic view over the city from Mt. Royal. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 13 Quebec City Sightseeing Tour Quebec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete. Quebec City looks and feels very European; perhaps that is why the entire old section of the town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today qualified guides will help you discover the enchanting sights which are part of Quebec City's history.
