Introduction
Discover the extraordinary wilderness of Greenland on this unique journey that combines exclusive amenities, exquisite meals and incredible adventures.
Disconnect with the modern world as you immerse yourself in the food, culture and nature of Greenland at a remote luxury camp, spending your days hiking, fishing, kayaking and cruising the ice-filled waters. The journey ends at a luxury lodge in Ilulissat.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Reykjavik > Nuuk > Camp Kiattua
Your luxury Greenland experience starts in Reykjavik, Iceland. Board your flight to Nuuk, where you will be met by your private guide for a short tour of the city. After repacking your gear in waterproof bags, transfer to Camp Kiattua by RIB boat. On arrival, get acquainted with your luxury camp and perhaps enjoy a relaxing visit to the outdoor hot tub or sauna.
Days 2 – 4 : Camp Kiattua
Your guide will help you tailor your own unique experience from a wide selection of options and activities, allowing you to be as active or relaxed as you’d like. Learn how to fish using your bare hands and traditional rods, get a glimpse of the Inuit way of life at a local settlement, kayak among the ice, swim in Arctic waters or hike to a nearby waterfall. Finish each day at the dining tent’s open kitchen, watching one of the best chefs in the country create gourmet meals from ingredients freshly sourced nearby.
Day 5 : Camp Kiattua > Ilulissat > Ilimanaq
After breakfast at the camp, transfer by boat to Nuuk and fly to Ilulissat. On arrival explore the old settlement of Sermermiut on foot with your guide. Learn about Inuit life and traditions prior to the arrival of Europeans in Greenland, see turf hut ruins, and touch the permafrost. Afterwards, take a short boat cruise along the southern banks of the fjord past massive icebergs to the settlement of Ilimanaq. Check-in at Ilimanaq Lodge, featuring luxury huts on the edge of the coastline with unique vistas of icebergs and passing whales. All huts were designed to integrate into the surrounding tundra and are furnished in beautiful Nordic style. Finish with dinner at Restaurant Egede, a beautifully restored 18th century home overlooking Disko Bay.
Day 6 : Ilimanaq > Eqi Glacier > Ilimanaq
Spend the day on the water north of Ilulissat with a full day tour by boat to Eqi Glacier. Pass by steep mountains rich with bird life and watch for whales and seals in the fjord system. The boat will be safely secured near the glacier for an up close view of enormous pieces of ice breaking off and crashing into the water – the sounds and sights will take your breath away!
Day 7 : Ilimanaq > Ilulissat > Reykjavik
After breakfast, transfer back to Ilulissat by boat. Do some last minute shopping or stroll through the town before transferring to the airport for your flights back to Reykjavik. Arrangements end upon arrival in Iceland.
