Introduction
Experience two of Zambia’s most diverse national parks with each destination offering unique experiences in unspoiled wilderness.
From the ancient forests of South Luangwa to the sweeping savannahs of the Liuwa Plains, follow in the footsteps of conservation pioneer Norman Carr. Here you will encounter an abundance of wildlife including large herds of elephant, superb sightings of leopard, wild dog and Africa’s second largest wildebeest migration.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Livingstone > Liuwa Plains
Depart on your light aircraft flight through to Liuwa Plains which is home to Africa’s second largest wildebeest migration, magnificent birdlife, a growing cheetah population and the famed Lady Liuwa lion pride. Enjoy three nights at King Lewanika Camp, the only permanent camp in the National Park. The villas here offer total immersion in the vast landscape, allowing travellers to experience nature’s masterpiece in a meaningful way.
Days 2 & 3 : Liuwa Plains
Enjoy day and night game drives and walking safaris as well as canoeing and fishing on a seasonal basis. The plains are unspoiled and exclusive with rare game and a rich natural heritage. With the vast plains, dramatic skies, magnificent birdlife and annual wildflower blooms, Liuwa Plains is a photographers dream come true!
Day 4 : Liuwa Plains > Mfuwe > South Luangwa National Park
Journey through to Mfuwe where you will be transferred to your luxurious camp for the next three nights. Chinzombo is a luxurious camp which retains its bush authenticity with grass and canvas walls and spacious living areas that melt into the exquisitely tranquil riverside setting. Each villa offers panoramic views of the Luangwa River and the abundant wildlife that frequents its banks. Sprawling, ancient shade trees and private plunge pools offer comfort and relaxation for guests staying in any one of the six stunning villas.
Days 5 & 6 : South Luangwa National Park
Spend two full days enjoying the activities from the Camp. The South Luangwa is renowned for its world-class predator action, with especially strong sightings of the elusive leopard. Explore the region’s diverse habitats with game drives, safari walks and boat cruises (seasonal). Pamper yourself with an in-villa spa treatment during your midday break between safari activities.
Day 7 : South Luangwa National Park > Lusaka
End your Zambia experience with a light aircraft flight to Lusaka.
