Introduction
Unquestionably the most dynamic city in China and rapidly becoming one of the most important cities in the world, this stopover in Shanghai offers you a wonderful insight into the old and the new China.
Enjoy the glorious old colonial buildings of the Bund and across the river, marvel at the futuristic skyline of Pudong – especially beautiful when lit up at night.
The Shanghai Museum is possibly the best in China and a wonderful insight into her rich heritage. You will also be amazed at the feats of the famous Shanghai acrobats at a show that is included after a sumptuous dinner on your first evening.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Shanghai
Upon your arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel located close to the Bund. The remainder of the day is at leisure until your evening transfer to the ERA Intersection of Time Acrobatics Show. This stunning acrobatic show combines traditional Chinese martial arts with special effects, lighting and original live music, transporting you through time with each performance.
Day 2 : Shanghai
Depart after breakfast on your morning excursion of the Bund, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River. The Bund is where trading houses and banks were headquartered in the 1920s and 1930s, and you will be able to enjoy a bird’s eye view of modern Shanghai from the Shanghai World Financial Centre. Afterwards, you will be taken to Yu Garden, located in the Old Town of Shanghai. Created in 1559, Yu Garden occupies an area of five acres, featuring an array of beautiful pagodas, pavilions, rockeries, fountains, ancient trees and flowers. Afterwards, you can walk through to Yuyuan Market, located just outside Yu Garden, where you will find a bustling market selling a variety of souvenirs, arts and crafts. Afterwards, continue to Shanghai Old Street, which connects the Yuyuan Market to Shiliupu dock. The 825 metre street is the ideal place to discover what Shanghai was like in years gone by as it stretches from east to west and features architectural styles from the late Qing dynasty to early republic times.
In the afternoon, enjoy some time at leisure to shop or explore at your own pace.
Day 3 : Shanghai
Today is free for you to spend at leisure until your private transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
