Itinerary
Day 1 : Kilimanjaro > Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro, Tanzania you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel (approximately one hour). The Arusha Coffee Lodge is nestled within one of Tanzania’s largest working coffee plantations and is characterised by plantation-style home comfort. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an optional Shanga cultural experience. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Day 2 : Arusha > Tarangire National Park
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before being transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park, a dramatically beautiful and diverse ecosystem, boasting more than 3,000 elephants – one of the largest concentrations in East Africa. These herds of elephants are easily encountered, wet or dry. The swamps are tinged green year-round and are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a full-day game drive through the park, complete with a picnic lunch in the bush. Arrive at Elewana Tarangire Treetops in the late afternoon, just in time for sundowners. Then, cap off the day with a traditional Maasai boma dinner at the camp.
Days 3 & 4 : Tarangire National Park
Start your day in Tarangire with an invigorating morning bush walk followed by a delightful breakfast in the wilderness. Afterwards, return to the camp for lunch before heading out on an exciting afternoon game drive. This evening, you will enjoy a delicious dinner back at the camp. The following day, after breakfast, embark on a thrilling game drive, followed by a visit to a local Maasai village before enjoying lunch back at the camp and another game drive in the afternoon. At sunset, experience sundowners in the bush and a night game drive before concluding the day with dinner at the camp.
Day 5 : Tarangire > Serengeti National Park
Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the camp, followed by a scenic game drive en route to Kuro Airstrip. From there, board your flight to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch at either Elewana Serengeti Pioneer or Migration Camp before heading out on an exciting afternoon game drive. Conclude your day with a delightful dinner back at the camp.
Days 6 & 7 : Serengeti National Park
The Great Migration in the Serengeti is a spectacular event, with over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle moving in search of fresh grazing. Starting in the southern Serengeti, the herds journey north, crossing the Mara River into Kenya’s Masai Mara, facing predators like lion and crocodile. This year-round cycle includes calving from January to March and river crossings from July to September, showcasing the raw beauty and survival of the African wilderness.
Commence your day with a hearty breakfast at camp before heading out for a thrilling game drive or an immersive bush walk. Return to camp for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game drive. Late afternoon, enjoy sundowners in the bush followed by a magical dining experience under the stars. The following day, enjoy an early breakfast at camp before setting out on a full-day game drive. Enjoy a picnic hamper lunch in the bush, then return to camp for sundowners and a delicious dinner.
Day 8 : Serengeti > Lake Manyara > Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at camp, enjoy a morning game drive en route to the airstrip. Board your flight to Manyara airstrip, followed by a transfer to Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro for a delightful lunch. Spend the afternoon indulging in various activities such as a plantation coffee tour, swimming, horse riding, or a relaxing massage treatment (additional charge). Conclude the day with high tea and a sumptuous dinner.
Day 9 : Ngorongoro Crater
Today visit one of the ‘Natural Wonders of the World’ – the Ngorongoro Crater. Filmed and documented by naturalists from the four corners of the earth, the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest ‘dry’ caldera of its kind, is rich in wildlife. Large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Maasai tribesmen herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries. Lunch is served in the Crater under an awning in a campaign-style luncheon. This spectacular setting at times belies belief. Whilst the resident hippos enjoy their daily bathing, herds of zebra and wildebeest keep a wary eye out for any number of predators.
You will begin your day with an early breakfast before embarking on a full-day tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a picturesque picnic lunch within the crater. Return to The Manor in the evening for a delicious dinner to conclude your memorable day.
Day 10 : Ngorongoro > Manyara > Arusha > Kilimanjaro
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at camp before transferring to Lake Manyara Airport. Upon arrival, board your flight to Arusha Airport, where you will be transferred to the charming Arusha Coffee Lodge. Depending on your outbound flight, a day room will be provided (subject to availability). Finally, enjoy a scenic road transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport where your journey through Tanzania concludes.
