Private option itinerary
Day 1 : Cape Town > Winelands
Personal meet and greet on arrival then half day Winelands tour including wine tasting. Overnight in Franschhoek in a boutique hotel.
Cape Winelands is renowned for its crisp white and classic French style red wines, fantastic cheeses and olives but it also has a stunning wealth of natural rustic beauty with vast estates shaded from the African sunshine by giant oak trees and towering mountains overlooking lush valleys
Day 2 : Winelands > Swellendam
Scenic drive of approximately three hours plus stops en route to Swellendam.
Day 3 : Swellendam > Plettenberg Bay
Continue the drive along the pretty Garden Route with stops en route. First stop in Knysna, where you will enjoy a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon before departing to Plettenverg Bay. Enjoy two nights at a gorgeous country lodge.
The Garden Route is one of the most popular travel routes in South Africa. This coastal corridor stretches along the Western and Eastern Capes coastline and boasts a myriad of exciting and beautiful options for the traveller, whether in one of the stunning coastal towns or on the routes numerous glorious beaches. This culturally rich part of South Africa has its own unique flavour with many different activities. Whether ostrich viewing or exploring the 20 million year old Cango Caves in Oudshoorn, hiking the famous Knysna Heads trails, golfing on one of the many world renowned golf courses, enjoying the beaches of Mossel Bay or trying the vast array of amazing South African cuisine along the way, the Garden Route is well suited to everyone.
Day 4 : Plettenberg Bay
Enjoy your day at leisure.
Plettenberg Bay is well known for its endless golden beaches and indigenous forests and creates a welcome retreat from the chaos of the city.
Day 5 : Plettenberg Bay > Kwandwe Game Reserve
After a full day travelling to the Eastern Cape, arrive at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Stay three nights at the luxurious Great Fish River Lodge.
Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge is in the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve and is an elegant and contemporary getaway in the African wilderness. It is perched along the banks of the Great Fish river and has a select number of suites each with their own private plunge pools. This is where you will revel in game drives, nature walks accompanied by an armed ranger and big game walking safaris. Big game walking safaris will allow you to track rhino, elephant and buffalo on foot, a truly immersive and thrilling experience. After days spent in the wild, the evenings are for African-inspired meals either in the candlelit dining room or under the stars in the boma.
Days 6 & 7 : Kwandwe Game Reserve
Two exciting days on safari with game drives in open 4×4 vehicles with professional rangers, nature walks and gorgeous pan-African cuisine. Morning drives begin as dawn breaks and guests have the opportunity to see the predators winding up their nocturnal hunts and settling in for the day. Many animals take advantage of the cool morning hours to graze before the heat of the day. In the late afternoon wildlife can often be spotted coming down to the river to drink. Night drives produce some unusual sightings, including aardvark, aardwolf, bat-eared fox and porcupine.
Day 8 : Kwandwe > Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha)
Transfer or drive to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) Airport.
