Introduction
This whirlwind adventure whisks you through captivating cities in Poland, each with its own unique charm and history.
From the beautifully reconstructed Old Town of Warsaw and the majestic Malbork Castle, a medieval marvel, to the vibrant port city of Gdansk with its towering St. Mary’s Church and the relaxing Sopot Pier, you’ll be immersed in history and culture. Continue to the lively student city of Poznan, the enchanting Wroclaw with its charming Market Square. Stop at the cultural heart of Krakow, where you’ll explore the iconic Old Town, the fascinating Wieliczka Salt Mine, and take a poignant journey to Auschwitz-Birkenau before soaking in the mountain air of Zakopane.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Warsaw
Upon your arrival you will be privately transferred to your accommodation.
Day 2 : Warsaw
After breakfast, take a guided sightseeing tour of the Old Town. Visit the Royal Castle and walk through the regal apartments of Poland’s last monarch, King Stanislaw August Poniatowski. Explore the main highlights of the city, including the Council Chamber, the Great Assembly Hall and the iconic Marble Room. After the tour, your afternoon is at leisure.
Day 3 : Warsaw > Malbork > Gdansk
This morning you will be transferred to Gdansk via Malbork city. Visit the Malbork castle with a local museum guide and explore a wealth of treasures and exhibitions. Its vaulted interior marked by columns that fan out like palm trees, supposedly to remind the Teutonic Knights of their Palestinian roots. In contrast to the Spartan beauty of the Grand Master’s Chambers the rest of the castle is filled with exhibits and dioramas. Observe many Roman relics and artefacts. Transfer to Gdansk. Remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 4 : Gdansk
Today explore Gdansk with a private guide. You will visit Historical Museum with enlightening and grandiose exhibits. Cross the street to St. Mary’s Church, a Roman Catholic Church and one of the largest brick churches in the world, dating to the 14th century. Continue to the Baroque and Rococo stylised Oliwa Cathedral, a 13th-century building with splendid organs, one of which – the Great Organ – was the largest in the world upon its completion in 1788. Conclude your tour with a walk on the Sopot Pier, the longest wooden pier in Europe, located in neighbour town Sopot. Rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Day 5 : Gdansk > Poznan
After breakfast you will be privately transferred to the local train station and travel to Poznan. Upon arrival in Poznan you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 6 : Poznan > Wroclaw
Today enjoy a panoramic tour of Poznan, the capital of the Wielkopolska region, in the past the capital town ruled by Duke Mieszko, considered the first Christian ruler in Poland. During the tour you have the chance to walk along the main boulevards and get acquainted with the most important sightseeing. Explore the centre of Poznan’s old part with the famous Town Hall and the National Museum.
Afternoon travel to Wroclaw by train. Upon arrival to Wroclaw you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 7 : Wroclaw
Take a half day guided city tour to explore the oldest part of the city – Ostrów Tumski where we visit the Cathedral, which is the main landmark of Wroclaw. Continue to the University with its magnificent baroque Aula Leopoldina – a building designed in the Italian baroque style and decorated with frescoes. Next visit the famous gallery Leśnica Castle. Finish your tour by walking through the Market Square and admiring the Gothic City Hall and surrounding buildings. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 8 : Wroclaw > Zabrze > Tychy > Krakow
This morning you will be privately transferred to Krakow with stops in Zabrze and Tychy. Explore the main sites and famous buildings en route. In Zabrze visit the Guido Coal Mine founded in 1855, boasting a list of historical artefacts. Continue to Tychy where you stop at Tyskie Brewery, with history of beer-brewing dating back almost 400 years. Later you will be transferred to your hotel in Krakow.
Day 9 : Krakow > Wieliczka > Krakow
Today discover more about history and cultural aspects of Krakow. You tour guide will take you through some of the highlights of the Old Town for which the city is famous for. It follows the Royal Route that goes along the most known streets in Krakow, the Slowacki Theater and one of the oldest universities in Europe – the Jagiellonian University. Stroll through the vibrant streets of the Main Market Square. You will also see St. Mary’s Basilica and the magnificent Wawel Castle. Along the way, you can take time to explore charming streets, cafes and restaurants.
In the afternoon an excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine – one of the oldest mines in the world, working since the 13th century and UNESCO Heritage site. You will visit underground passages, chambers and the Krakow SAlt-Works Museum.
Day 10 : Krakow > Auschwitz > Krakow
Private transfer to Auschwitz for a guided visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. Here, you will gain insight into a significant and poignant period of modern history, reflecting on the human impact in occupied Poland during World War II. The former camp now stands as a important memorial and UNESCO Heritage Site, honouring the many lives lost. Upon the conclusion of your tour you will be privately transferred back to your accommodation.
Day 11 : Krakow > Zakopane > Krakow
Today you will explore the “winter capital of Poland”: Zakopane. During the tour you will get a chance to experience true culture of Polish highlands, ride to the Gubalowka Mountain and enjoy amazing views of Tatra Mountains that surround the city. Later you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Krakow.
Day 12 : Krakow
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport, where arrangements conclude.
