Introduction
This exceptional tailor-made Kenya safari will take you to three of the country’s most iconic destinations.
Your adventure begins with a night at the luxurious Hemingways Nairobi followed by two nights at the game-rich Meru National Park. Make a stop at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, with its focus on wildlife conservation and community support. End your journey at Masai Mara National Reserve.
This itinerary can be tailor-made, with the number of days, places visited, and activities varied to suit you.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Nairobi
Transfer on arrival and spend the night at Hemingways Nairobi where the 5 star luxury and exceptional service provide the perfect prelude to your safari experience.
Day 2 : Nairobi > Meru National Park
After an early breakfast, drive to Meru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your reserved camp and relax before you enjoy evening game drive in this untamed wilderness until dusk.
Spend two nights at at Elsa’s Kopje, named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film ‘Born Free’. Not only does Elsa’s Kopje remain one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, with one of the most spectacular settings, it also allows guests to have the entire park to themselves as it is the only fully operational lodge within the park. Built above the site of George Adamson’s original campsite, every cottage is the ultimate ‘room-with-a-view’, uniquely designed and crafted, incorporating the natural features of the rocky hillside. Enjoy day & night game drives in the park which incorporates a rhino sanctuary, home to over 70 rhino, both black and white. The size of the sanctuary ensures that finding the rhino is still a game-driving challenge!
Day 3 : Meru National Park
Spend the full day in Meru National Park with morning and evening game drives. Meru National Park is one of the best off the beaten tracks destinations in Kenya and one of the best places to see rhinos in their natural habitat. There are lots of other wildlife such as Leopards, cheetahs, elephants, lions, both Grevy’s and plains zebras, hartebeests, reticulated giraffes and many others.
Day 4 : Meru > Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
After breakfast, drive to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, which works as a catalyst for the conservation of wildlife and its habitat. It does this through the protection and management of species, the initiation and support of community conservation and development programmes, and the education of neighbouring areas in the value of wildlife. Enjoy twice daily safari activities from Lewa Safari Camp including game drives, guided bush walks, sundowners and day trips to Ngare Ndare Forest. Cultural and conservancy visits and horse or camel riding are also available at additional cost. The conservancy supports over 440 species of birds and more than 70 different mammals and is home to about 10 percent of Kenya’s black rhino population, and the single largest population of Grevy’s zebra in the world.
Day 5 : Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
Spend a full day in the conservancy with morning and evening game drives.
Day 6 : Lewa > Masai Mara
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. After arrival at the Airstrip, your camp safari guide will welcome you and proceed to your camp for check in and a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you will experience the unique African landscape and the breathtaking animal kingdom during your shared game drive.
Days 7 and 8 : Masai Mara
Spend two full days in Masai Mara. During the day, you go on shared morning and evening game drives through Masai Mara Game Reserve. The game reserve is best known for its wildebeest and zebra migration, which tends to pass through the area July to October, but many areas offer excellent game viewing year round. Enjoy various activities offered by the camp such as sundowners and walking safaris.
Optional activity: Early morning balloon ride with champagne breakfast.
Day 9 : Masai Mara > Nairobi
A relaxed rise followed by breakfast, check out and transferred to the airstrip for a scheduled morning flight back to Nairobi.
Pick up from Wilson Airport and transfer to Carnivore Restaurant for hot lunch with a tour of Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum, and thereafter dropped at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in good time for your flight back home.
