Introduction
Tick off the serious bucket list destinations of the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park.
To add to the safari, stay in the Ngorongoro region at a former coffee plantation – which will enrich your holiday even more.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Kilimanjaro > Tarangire National Park
On arrival at Kilimanjaro, you will be transferred to Nimali Lodge in Tarangire National Park for the next two nights. One of the lesser-known game reserves in Tanzania, it offers a great diversity of wildlife. During the dry season, the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area, which attracts abundant wildlife.
Day 2 : Tarangire National Park
Morning and afternoon safaris, as well as “sofa safaris” at the lodge where there is a waterhole right in front of camp.
Day 3 : Tarangire National Park > Ngorongoro Region
Today you will drive to the Ngorongoro region and spend three nights at Gibbs Farm, an idyllic farmhouse set among picturesque grounds. Learn about farm life and enjoy a full-day safari into the Ngorongoro Crater itself.
Day 4 : Ngorongoro Crater
Today you will be taken on a full day safari excursion in the nearly 3-million year-old intact caldera known as the Ngorongoro Crater. This Natural Wonder of the World is home to the highest density of big game wildlife in Africa grazing and living on the fertile land with the most stunning backdrop of the crater walls.
Day 5 : Ngorongoro Region
Today you have time to enjoy and savour the sanctuary of Gibbs Farm, or enjoy several optional excursions.
Day 6 : Ngorongoro Region > Serengeti National Park
Transfer to the Lake Manyara airstrip and fly to the Serengeti, for a game drive en route to camp. Spend the next three days at the ultimate in luxury camping, Serengeti Under Canvas. A traditional tent-style camp with a comfortable bed and fluffy duvet, big sofas, and a flushing water closet.
Days 7 & 8 : Serengeti National Park
The camp movement is planned to anticipate movements of the Great Migration, bringing you as close as possible to the wildebeest action. Get up close and personal with exceptional resident game year round, big cat sightings, rhino in the north, cheetah sightings in the south and massive elephant and buffalo herds roaming across the vast plains.
Day 9 : Serengeti > Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro.
