Introduction
From the bustling streets of Paris to the serene vineyards of Champagne, this itinerary offers a delightful blend of urban exploration, historical discovery, and gastronomic indulgence.
Explore the timeless elegance of Versailles, the artistic genius of Monet’s Giverny, and the enchanting Loire Valley castles. Indulge in a culinary adventure, from Parisian cooking classes to truffle hunting in Burgundy. And of course, taste the finest wines and champagne!
This itinerary can be tailor-made, with the number of days, places visited, and activities varied to suit you.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Paris
Upon arrival in Paris you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy free time to discover the city’s charming streets and surrounding areas.
Day 2 : Paris > Versailles > Paris
After breakfast, join a full day tour of Paris and its fascinating history. Later, drive to Versailles, with a stop for lunch in a typical local restaurant before a guided visit of Chateaux de Versailles and its fabulous royal gardens. Return to your hotel for your overnight.
Day 3 : Paris
Begin your day by meeting with a local Chef and heading to a typical market, filled with open-air stalls and fresh local ingredients. You’ll discuss the French traditions of the market and work together to pick out what you’ll be cooking for lunch. At the end of your market visit, travel with your chef to their nearby Parisian apartment. You will prepare the meals with the Chef, and share the results! The afternoon is at leisure. You may enjoy a Seine cruise, visit a French Brasserie or take in a burlesque show at the French Cabaret (at additional cost).
Day 4 : Paris > Giverny > Paris
After breakfast depart towards Giverny, in the Normandy region, where you will visit Monet’s house and view his famed Impressionist’s art. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.
Day 5 : Paris > Loire Valley
After breakfast take a private transfer to the railway station for your departure to the Loire Valley. On arrival you will be met at the train station be transferred to your hotel. In the early afternoon meet your guide for a half day private tour of Amboise and the Royal Chateau of Amboise. Explore the Clos Luce, the last residence of the great Leonardo da Vinci.
Days 6 & 7 : Loire Valley
Join a full day private tour of the Chateau de Chenonceau, also called the “Castle of the Ladies”, and the elegant Chateau de Chaumont. Later enjoy a wine tasting of Loire Valley white wines in a local wine cellar. The next morning you will visit the Renaissance Chateau d’Azay-le-Rideau and Chateau de Villandry and its outstanding gardens, followed by a unique wine and cheese tasting.
Day 8 : Loire Valley > Beaune
After your breakfast meet your driver for a private transfer to Beaune, a walled town at the heart of the Burgundy winemaking region.
Day 9 : Beaune
After breakfast, meet your driver who will take you through a fantastic wine experience including stops at Côte de Beaune for wine tasting. A lunchtime visit to a truffle farm will include a cavage (truffle hunt) and gourmet truffle lunch. After lunch, head to the Côte de Nuits, stopping in at vineyards where you will visit another wine cellar and taste local wines.
Day 10 : Beaune > Troyes > Champagne region
This morning transfer from Beaune to Troyes where you can enjoy lunch or explore the town before continuing to the Champagne region for your overnight. Troyes is a medieval town with charming narrow, cobbled streets lined with colourful, half-timbered houses, mostly dating from the 16th century.
Day 11 : Champagne region
Today is all about champagne! This morning you will stop at two local champagne producers, enjoying tastings at a famous Champagne House.
Day 12 : Champagne region > Paris
This morning return to Paris, where arrangements end.
