Itinerary
Day 1 : Frankfurt
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure to relax or explore the city on your own.
Day 2 : Frankfurt
Experience Frankfurt’s highlights on a private walking tour. You will visit historical sites like the Gothic-style St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral, the birthplace of Germany’s most famous writer, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and the modern financial district, home of the European Central Bank.
Day 3 : Frankfurt > Rhine Valley > Frankfurt
Today you will discover the enchanting Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its vineyard-covered hills and medieval castles. Listen to stories about the region, admire the breathtaking views and enjoy a wine tasting, where you will sample local wines. Return to Frankfurt in the evening.
Day 4 : Frankfurt > Wuerzburg
Meet your private driver guide in the lobby to start your journey along the Romantic Road – a picturesque route renowned for its charming medieval towns and stunning landscapes. Your first stop is Wuerzburg, located on the banks of Main River, where you will enjoy a city walking tour including a visit of the magnificent Wuerzburg Residence, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll have the afternoon to explore Würzburg on your own, perhaps visiting a local wine tavern.
Day 5 : Wuerzburg > Rothenburg
Travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the most picturesque medieval towns in Europe. The town is famous for its half-timbered houses, narrow cobblestone streets and preserved city walls. A guided tour takes you through Rothenburg’s highlights, including the Market Square, St. James’ Church, and the Plönlein, a postcard-perfect medieval corner. Afterward, enjoy leisure time to shop for local crafts, visit the German Christmas Museum, or climb the city walls for panoramic views.
Day 6 : Rothenburg > Nuremberg > Rothenburg
Today you will travel to Nuremberg, a city with deep historical significance. Known for its role in the Holy Roman Empire and as the site of the Nuremberg Trials after World War II, Nuremberg is rich in culture and history. Visit the imposing Nuremberg Castle, walk through the Old Town, and explore the Nazi Party Rally Grounds to gain a deeper understanding of the city’s complex past. Return to Rothenburg in the evening.
Day 7 : Rothenburg > Augsburg
Continue your journey to Augsburg, one of Germany’s oldest cities, dating back to Roman times. The city is known for its Renaissance and Baroque architecture, as well as its connection to the powerful Fugger family, who were instrumental in shaping the city’s development. During your guided walk, visit the grand Augsburg Town Hall, the Perlachturm tower, and the Fuggerei, the oldest social housing complex in the world. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 8 : Augsburg > Newchwanstein > Fuessen
Travel from Augsburg to Fuessen, nestled in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. The highlight of the day is a visit to the legendary Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Known for its fairy-tale beauty and dramatic location on a rugged hilltop, the castle inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. Take a guided tour through the opulent interiors and admire the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. After the tour, enjoy leisure time in the charming town of Fuessen.
Day 9 : Fuessen > Oberammergau > Munich
Depart Fuessen and travel to Munich. On the way visit Linderhof Palace, the smallest of King Ludwig II’s palaces but the only one he saw completed. The palace is famous for its intricate rococo design, beautiful gardens, and the extravagant Hall of Mirrors. Afterward, stop in Oberammergau, a charming Bavarian village known for its woodcarvers and the famous Passion Play performed every decade. You’ll arrive in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, later in the day.
Day 10 : Munich
After breakfast you will be transfer to Munich Airport where arrangements conclude.
