Introduction
On this private tour, you’ll visit the hotspots of Tanzania’s safari destinations.
Stay at eco-friendly tented camps and lodges and away from the larger crowded lodges during peak seasons. This is a wonderful safari for those short on time!
Note: There is also an “Tarangire, Ngorongoro & The Serengeti” small group tour option available on select dates.
This itinerary can be tailor-made, with the number of days, places visited, and activities varied to suit you.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Arusha > Tarangire
From Arusha, depart early and drive to Tarangire National Park. During the dry season (June to September) thousands of animals including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, and the rarely seen oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. Spend the day enjoying game drives in the area, with picnic lunch included. Overnight at a tented camp in Tarangire.
Day 2 : Tarangire National Park
Enjoy a full day of game drives in Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire National Park is famed for an abundance of wildlife and ideal conditions for game drives. From July to November the Tarangire River is a magnet for migratory animals such as wildebeest, zebra, eland, Coke’s hartebeest, gazelle, buffalo and elephant
Day 3 : Tarangire > Karatu / Ngorongoro
Depart from Tarangire and drive to the highlands of Karatu, stopping en route to view Lake Manyara and the escarpment below. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Ngorongoro Crater – often seeing four of the ‘Big five’ with ease! Stay the night at a lodge in the Ngorongoro/Karatu area.
Day 4 : Karatu / Ngorongoro > Serengeti
You will continue your journey to Serengeti National Park today.
Day 5 & 6 : Serengeti National Park
Spend your next few days exploring the Serengeti – unequalled for its beauty and home to more than three million large mammals spread over the vast endless plains. It is here, at certain times of the year, that we may encounter the breathtaking spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration, where one and a quarter million wildebeest trek in columns of up to 40 km long in search of grazing, drawing with them their predators and numerous other species of game.
NB: Balloon safari optional – pricing upon request.
Day 7 : Serengeti > Kilimanjaro
After your breakfast on your final day, enjoy a scenic flight over the Rift Valley en route to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
