Born and raised in NZ, Ruby’s first trip overseas at 12 years old was spent in her Mum’s village in Savai’i, Samoa. This full immersion in simple village life (no power, cooking by fire, laundry washed in the stream, food gathered from the plantation) saw Ruby’s eyes opened to how differently people live around the world. Fast-forward to today, and Ruby has worked in travel for 25 years, travelling extensively in that time. Personal highlights include Venice during Biennale; the cliff-top monasteries at Meteora in Greece; and Sri Lanka – the only country which has managed to knock Cambodia off her #1 favourite spot!
